Heaven’s Door Decade Series III: Double Barrel Whiskey

Decade Series III is the final release in the Decade Series, a double barrel whiskey built from four whiskeys past ten years old and bottled at 100 proof. Three Tennessee straight bourbons and one rye, all distilled between 2011 and 2013, were blended and then put back into heavily toasted Radoux barrels to age a second time. The bourbon carries it, dark and smoky with toasted coconut and vanilla worked through, and the rye is a small part of the blend on purpose, in to cut that sweetness with something nutty and herbal so a decade of oak never sits heavy. Each grain does a job the other cannot.
