Bootleg Series Vol. III is a 13 year Kentucky straight bourbon finished in Vino de Naranja casks and bottled at 121 proof. Vino de Naranja is a fortified Andalusian wine macerated with bitter orange peel, and its casks are almost never used for whiskey because almost nobody thinks to try. What came back carried candied and bitter orange across the caramel and oak, dry rather than sweet, and it was bottled at full strength so none of it was diluted on the way out.
