Heaven’s Door Bootleg Vol. II: 15 Year Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Finished in Jamaican Rum Casks

Bootleg Series Vol. II is a 15 year straight bourbon finished in Jamaican pot still rum casks and bottled at 105 proof. Those casks are among the loudest wood in whiskey finishing, coming back carrying overripe banana, molasses and funk, and on a young bourbon that is the whole drink inside a month. Fifteen years in oak beforehand is the only reason the finish reads as a layer instead of a takeover, so the bourbon keeps its frame and the cask lays tropical fruit and brown sugar over the top of it.
